“Aftermath” and “Sparks”, by Carole Standish Mora

Aftermath

proposition measures me
how else do one another make
examples many prime and multiply
a megrim fine and non sum-like falls
while Archimedes calls to circle things
to parabola my gravity
lemma my lament
spheroids float
between AB and flock bisected
by my segmented plane
this prism cylindrical fission
fission perpendicular – a ratio
being equal and drawn to axis
without any trace of equilibrium
this vertex system
obtuse and tangent

Sparks (after Stan Brakhage)

The stars are old sparks from an old fire.
The stars are the gray hairs of a furry animal.
The stars are loop holes in the 256 dimensions.
The stars are the broken fragments of the mirror
                     that reflects reality.
The stars are a flock of humming birds –
if you look carefully, you can see their wings
                                                                                      flickering.
