Fiona Doolan is a medical student at Trinity College Dublin in Dublin, Ireland. She resonates deeply with the complicated tidings of a post-Roe America, as Ireland had some of the world’s strictest anti-abortion laws until the 2018 referendum. The purpose of her submission, entitled “Who Speaks?” is to enter another’s space and contemplate the multiple perspectives entangled by such legislation. Fiona believes that as physicians, they have precious little time to sit and think, and she wanted to capture a moment of reprise of a young female doctor. This speaks to the Sensibility aspect of this issue, but it is also a study of form and body, which is inevitably in the grip of science.
