“Death of Myth”, by Franco Enrico

“Death of Myth”

dry cracking soil lies quiet and still
a gravity inverted, slowly evaporating
tearing at the last divine remnants

the blood of our ancestors have bleached the soil,
and poisoned her priestess’
those old ones, who’s roots run deep
hide in granite crevices,

biding their time, near forgotten.
the arid creeping ever closer
calling to return the ancient wisdom

the living are dead
only surviving remains.

claw marks scar deep,
evidence of the slaughter.
savaged limbs, once mystical bodies
entombed under an arid riverbed.

in the wake of a time forgotten
the son has left his mother’s breast
his father blind, unable to read the path.

beyond the highest peak
his shadow disappears,
lost within the rusting forrest

As an Embodied Imagination practitioner, Franco’s background as an exhibiting artist, ballet dancer, qualified architect, dedicated yogi and occasional poet bodes well as a facilitator and fellow traveler in the imaginal realms of dreams.  His recent achievement of an MA with distinction from the University of Essex in Jungian and Post Jungian Studies brings the richness of a Jungian lens to his constant inquiry into the ontology of the realm of the imaginal. The focus of his work might be summarised as; bringing soul to the image and embodiment to the imaginal.
