“A Sunset Pareidolia”, by Roula-Maria Dib

A Sunset Pareidolia

During the 24 hour shift/ the Candyland of day
heralds the time for rest/ as the sky closes its curtains
and the Maker marks the day’s long recess/
embroidering the air with a chocolate coin in rose gold foil.
Clouds are blown like coconut macaroons in sugar-crisped wind/
bumping into a few watermelon meringues.
Sunset. A concoction of sweet dreams to come/
a display of metaphors above.
